Maritime Museum This museum’s collection is one of the largest and most prominent maritime collections in the world, illustrating 600 years of Dutch maritime history, among other things.
During the “Rotterdam Dakendagen” in 2025, the ‘Rooftop Roets’, the roof of the Maritime Museum, took centre stage. Over 1 million objects are on display inside and outside the museum covering Dutch maritime history from the late 15 th century to the present day. A time span that no other maritime museum in our country can portray with objects.
It is a collection that, according to experts, is among the absolute best in the world. Admire masterpieces from the distinguished collection, listen to stories and enjoy the museum located in the oldest and largest museum port in the Netherlands. Here you can also experience historic ships and cranes and learn how the world port of Rotterdam began on this very spot. The new Maritime Women exhibition is now also on display.
