A striking new vessel recently made its debut in the port of Rotterdam: Port of Rotterdam’s all-electric hydrofoil vessel.

This vessel is part of a pilot under the Port Authority’s fleet renewal programme. The new type of hydrofoil patrol vessel “Artemis EF-12 Workboat” will be on the waters of the Nieuwe Maas from June 2025. The vessel has been named RPA ZERO, a reference to her zero emission capacity. As the vessel accelerates, the hull of hydrofoils rises out of the water, reducing drag and wave action and increasing energy efficiency.
