Aramis

The Aramis initiative is – after Porthos – a second planned large-scale transport infrastructure for CO2 storage in empty gas fields under the North Sea.

By storing CO2 permanently, it cannot enter the atmosphere, thus sparing the climate. Aramis includes a terminal on the Maasvlakte for among other things, liquid CO2 originating from ships. This is the CO2 next project, being implemented by Vopak, Gasunie, Shell, EBN and TotalEnergies. It is scheduled for 2030, with further expansion and scaling up in the following years.
