Dutch maritime companies participating in Seatrade Cruise Global (13 to 16 April) had the opportunity to present their pitches to cruise lines on 15 April in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.
The programme in Miami included meetings with cruise lines, ports and shipyards. In short, it was a very distinguished gathering, where Marja van Bijsterveldt, the “envoy for the maritime manufacturing industry and maritime industry as such” also attended. She supports the Dutch maritime sector – including the cruise industry – by strengthening visibility, promoting innovation through highlighting the Netherlands’ competitive international position.
During their working visit to the United States, the King and Queen made time to travel to Miami, where they met various representatives of the maritime cruise industry, including Cruise Port Amsterdam and Cruise Port Rotterdam. A boost and a recognition for the Dutch maritime manufacturing, the cruise industry and the maritime industry as such. The visit by the King and Queen, as well as the envoy, made these international cruise days in Miami truly memorable.
Special thanks also go to the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Miami and the Embassy in New York, whose support was instrumental. (photo: Maritime & Offshore NL)
