Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb presented the Rotterdam Promotion Award 2024 to winner North Sea Jazz Rotterdam, the world’s biggest indoor jazz festival.

Year after year, the festival welcomes legends and new talent from the jazz, soul and funk scene. In 2023, these included Stormzy, Typhoon, Gregory Porter, Lizzo and Tom Jones. Earlier performers included Lionel Hampton, Ray Charles, Dianna Ross, Miles Davis, Prince, Ibrahim Ferrer, Ella Fitzgerald, Alicia Keys, Al Jarreau, B.B. King – a truly global company of musical celebrities.

The jury of the Promotion Award praises North Sea Jazz for its diverse programming in addition to new (cross-over) musical genres and the flawless organisation of the festival.
